Just this past Saturday evening two male robbers invaded, through an unlocked door, a home in Bethesda, Maryland demanding valuables from a startled couple. The home, located off Natelli Woods Lane, sits just a mile from my parents house (see map below).
I frequently spend evenings eating dinner with my folks and occasionally sleepover. Nothing like good ole home cooking! But it appears we might need to curb the family dinner time for more armed self defense training and range time. And here is the worst part… Police have not apprehended these two male suspects, so they might be eying any home for their next possible target
What can we learn from this experience?
- Crime occurs anytime at any place, be prepared
- Lock all doors and windows regardless of home location
- Have a home invasion plan
- Criminals are students of their craft, they tend to watch carefully their targets: Keep alert for any suspicious behavior and report to the police anything unsettling
Why did they do it? Maybe the wanted the money, or they were just bored and looking for something to do…
