The importance of teaching firearms safety to our children can not be overstated. Personally, I think ever grade school should have a class devoted to firearms safety and marksmanship. In my opinion, the boy scouts don’t even teach firearms safety enough, but I digress. Here is a great reason to teach your children the basics of firearms ownership and usage:
A 14-year-old boy shot and nearly killed an intruder who broke into his Phoenix home and pulled a gun on him while he was watching his three younger siblings, police said Saturday.
The teen and his siblings, ages 8, 10 and 12, were at home alone when a woman rang the doorbell on Friday. A common enough occurrence, the boy still chose not to open the door because he didn’t recognize the woman.
Our entry level basic firearms classes in Northern Virginia in Arlington would make for a great family activity. National Shooters recognizes the importance of keeping our children safe around firearms, as should their parents.
